Introduction

This research aims to select cultural codes that enable us to understand Russian-Eurasian area at a higher level and to combine them into a cultural dictionary, judging that deep understanding of this area is inevitable to prepare for the upcoming era of reunification and New Northeast Asian initiative. We sought to show systematically the cultural phenomena of Russian-Eurasian area and divided them into six categories, human being and emotions, nature and space, society and customs, politics and history, religion and idea, literature and art. We adopted step-by-step description strategy. For each category, we have selected several core culture codes and individual and specific derivative culture codes for each core culture code. The order of descriptions and their systems are the base for our research and is as follows. ⅰ) Title: Titles of culture codes are presented in Korean - Russian - other languages. ⅱ) Overview: A brief overview of the cultural code. ⅲ) Origin and concept: The Russian and Eurasian etymology expressing each cultural code and the Description of forming process of the cultural codes in historical and cultural background. ⅳ) Development and Examples: Explanations for the Appearances of cultural codes from past to present ⅴ) Associated derivative cultural code: Derivative cultural codes associated with the cultural code ⅵ) References: Reference materials ⅶ) Keyword: Related keyword for simplicity This study focuses mainly on the specificity and identity of individual cultures and also emphasizes their cultural universality and dynamic process of culture exchanges. Cross-cultural integration of Russian-Eurasian culture in terms of specificity and universality can provide an deep and fundamental understanding of the culture and provide a framework for objective and integrated interpretation for future research of culture in general. Therefore, the result of this study, "Russian - Eurasian Cultural Code Dictionary," is not limited to provide information. It facilitates a macrocosmic and comprehensive understanding of the culture of the Russian-Eurasian area, gives a new view on Russian - Eurasian culture as a other culture and finally provides a useful research methodology that can be applied to various culture studies.
